PG Thelander har ett så särpräglat bildspråk att ingen betraktare kan stå likgiltig.
Med glimten i ögat lånar han motiv ur den klassiska konsten och blandar friskt med egna funderingar.
Hans målningar överraskar. För vem undrar inte varför det finns muttrar, skruvar, öglor, plåster och tejp på sköldpaddor, pingviner, strutsar, grodor och hundar. Eller på en blå kub, orange morot eller prickig flugsvamp. PG Thelanders bildfantasi är outtömlig.
PG Thelander studerade vid Konstfack 1953-1959 och på Kungliga Konsthögskolan 1959-1964. Han är både målare, skulptör och grafiker och växlar gärna mellan de olika teknikerna. PG Thelander har uppmärksammats internationellt och är representerad på alla större museer i Sverige, samt i bl.a London, Paris, Dresden, Mexico City, New York och San Francisco.
Bland betydande konstmuseer kan nämnas Nationalmuseum och Moderna Museet i Stockholm, Malmö Museum, Göteborgs Konstmuseum, Bibliothèque National i Paris, British Museum i London och Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) i New York.
